Race report Fanatec GT World Paul Ricard

Walkenhorst Motorsport without luck at the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup in Paul Ricard

The BMW M4 GT3 of Thomas Neubauer, James Kell and Anders Buchardt had to be parked early at the Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS Endruance Cup in Paul Ricard due to a technical defect.

Paul Ricard. Walkenhorst Motorsport continued the Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS Endurance Cup season this weekend. While part of the team is already at Le Mans, Thomas Neubauer, James Kell and Anders Buchardt were looking forward to the second stop of the series at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

At the first event in Monza, the trio had already been able to prove that they could keep up with the strong field of drivers in the Bronze Cup. The sixth place also encouraged a positive result in France.

The BMW M4 GT3 with the striking Walkenhorst Motorsport design collected important data for the forthcoming race in the free practice sessions. The combined qualifying, which is made up of the respective fastest lap times of the driver constellation, allowed the #35 to start from 44th position. The six-hour race distance offered the drivers the last opportunity to drive at night before they would tackle the legendary Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa in a few weeks.

But luck was not kind to Anders Buchardt, who took over the first stint. While the Norwegian was able to avoid the collisions in the first turns, he had to park the BMW M4 GT3 early after just 21 laps. The reason for this was a technical defect.

Despite the bad luck in the race, Walkenhorst Motorsport is looking forward to the highlight of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps at the end of June with great motivation.
