Le Mans. A long week of preparation lies behind Walkenhorst Motorsport. The team from Melle contests the 100th anniversary edition of the 24 Heures du Mans. The participation is of great importance for the team around Chandler Hull, Andrew Haryanto and Jeffrey Segal, because it is the first time that Walkenhorst Motorsport is taking part in the biggest endurance race in the world.
With starting number #100, the trio contests the 24-hour classic in the Ferrari 488 GTE EVO in the LMGTE AM category. The technical support from AF Corse provided the optimal basis for the sessions. The McIntosh-designed car steadily improved its placement in the first two free practice sessions and, with a strong 11th place in qualifying, demonstrated that it can keep up with the hard-fought field of 21 LMGTE AM vehicles. The other free practice sessions on Thursday were used for final preparations.
On Saturday at 4:00 p.m., the starting signal for the 91st edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be given in front of around 250,000 fans. The 13.626 kilometer track will have plenty of action and exciting overtaking maneuvers in store.
Walkenhorst Motorsport and the trio of the #100 are full of anticipation and highly motivated.
