Round No. 3 at NBR!

After the clash two weeks ago it was time for NLS 3 and Walkenhorst Motorsport was back with five cars. For the first time it was possible that Christian Krognes was back in Germany and on the car in 2021. Together with David Pittard and Ben Tuck he drove the BMW M6 GT3 #34. Some issues in the qualification threw the trio back to P32, so it was very difficult to fight for the first places in the race. Nevertheless the crew managed to finish the race on P13.

The BMW M6 GT3 #35 was driven by Jörg Müller, Mario von Bohlen and Sami-Matti Trogen. Unfortunately these guys were not that lucky and were not able to finish the race due to technical reasons. Henry Walkenhorst, Friedrich von Bohlen and Jörg Breuer were the drivers of the third BMW M6 GT3 of the team. In the Am class the #36 managed to finish the race on P4. In the SP9 it wasn’t really a good weekend for Walkenhorst but in the Cup5 the team had some mega good results. Florian Weber, Davide Dehren and Will Tregurtha pushed with the BMW M2 CSr #888 and finished on P3 in Cup5/A. The sister car – BMW M2 CSr #889 with Matt Greenwood, Thomas Neubauer and Tom Wood fought for P2 in Cup5/B. The guys showed some amazing performance and were totally rewarded.

In already one week the team will be back again for the 24h Qualification race with four cars. Instead of the two M2CSr the M4 GT4 will be on site. The final driver lineups are going to be announced soon.

Nach dem “Clash” vor zwei Wochen war es Zeit für NLS 3 und Walkenhorst Motorsport war mit fünf Autos zurück. Zum ersten Mal war es möglich, dass Christian Krognes 2021 wieder in Deutschland war und somit fahren konnte. Zusammen mit David Pittard und Ben Tuck fuhr er den BMW M6 GT3 # 34. Einige Probleme im Training brachten das Trio zurück auf P32, so dass es sehr schwierig war, um die ersten Plätze im Rennen zu kämpfen. Trotzdem gelang es der Crew, das Rennen auf P13 zu beenden.

Der BMW M6 GT3 #35 wurde von Jörg Müller, Mario von Bohlen und Sami-Matti Trogen gefahren. Leider hatten diese Jungs nicht so viel Glück und konnten das Rennen aus technischen Gründen nicht beenden. Henry Walkenhorst, Friedrich von Bohlen und Jörg Breuer waren die Fahrer des dritten BMW M6 GT3 des Teams. In der Am-Klasse gelang es der #36, das Rennen auf P4 zu beenden. Im SP9 war es kein besonders gutes Wochenende für Walkenhorst, aber im Cup5 hatte das Team tolle Ergebnisse. Florian Weber, Davide Dehren und Will Tregurtha “pushten” den BMW M2 CSr #888 und beendeten das Rennen P3 im Cup5 / A. Das Schwesterauto – BMW M2 CSr # 889 mit Matt Greenwood, Thomas Neubauer und Tom Wood kämpfte im Cup5 / B um P2. Die Jungs zeigten eine erstaunliche Leistung und wurden dementsprechend belohnt.

Bereits in einer Woche ist das Team wieder mit vier Autos zum 24-Stunden-Qualifikationsrennen zurück. Anstelle der beiden M2CSr wird der M4 GT4 vor Ort sein. Die endgültigen Fahreraufstellungen werden in Kürze bekannt gegeben.
