24h of Le Mans Line-Up

Walkenhorst Motorsport confirms 24 Hours of Le Mans line-up

Chandler Hull, Andrew Haryanto and Jeffrey Segal contest the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Walkenhorst Motorsport Ferrari 488 GTE EVO.

Le Mans. At the beginning of the year, Walkenhorst Motorsport won a starting place for the 24-hour race in Le Mans with the title in the Asian Le Mans Series. The participation is of enormous importance for the team from Melle, which can look back on more than 10 years of motorsport experience. It is the first time that Walkenhorst Motorsport is taking part in the world’s biggest endurance classic, the anticipation is correspondingly high.

13.626 kilometers – the Le Mans circuit is legendary. The event will take place from June 10th to 11th, 2023 for the 91st time. This year the event is celebrating its 100th anniversary, as the 24 Heures du Mans started in 1923.

Walkenhorst Motorsport enters the race with the number #100, an additional homage to the edition of the century. The strong field of international top drivers is hard fought with 62 cars. In this format, the German team is using a Ferrari 488 GTE EVO, which is entered in the LMGTE AM category and is starting in cooperation with AF Corse. The vehicle will be tested as part of a shakedown in mid-May. The team also takes part in the official test prior to the event. Walkenhorst Motorsport is particularly proud of the fact that the operation is carried out independently by its own crew. The technical support comes from AF Corse, which can also support the strategy with their experience.

The line-up consists of the trio Chandler Hull, Andrew Haryanto and Jeffrey Segal. The drivers have set themselves the goal of celebrating a podium finish in the class with 21 racing cars.

Chandler Hull has already contributed to the title win in the Asian Le Mans Series. Andrew Haryanto and Jeffrey Segal also stand for continuity, experience and speed in GT racing.

The livery of the Ferrari 488 GTE EVO is something very special. The McIntosh design is based on the successful Asian Le Mans vehicle. The legendary McIntosh audio brand, which will soon be celebrating its 75th anniversary, is known around the world by many famous musicians, recording artists and producers for the best in sound quality.  McIntosh introduced itself earlier this year at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and has been the livery for both IMSA and the Asian Le Mans series this year. McIntosh is proud to pair two iconic brands (McIntosh and Ferrari) with Walkenhorst. McIntosh is no stranger to great stages of the world and there is no greater stage than Le Mans for auto racing.

A big thank you goes to all the sponsors and partners who make it possible for Walkenhorst Motorsport to celebrate the premiere of the #100 car.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nürburgring and Spa – the most important GT championships in endurance racing are in the sights of Walkenhorst Motorsport this season.

Niclas Königbauer: “Of course we are really looking forward to taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Nevertheless, we are aware that Le Mans offers special challenges, especially with regards to the right strategy. Our driver constellation is very balanced and I am convinced that we will have a good line-up at the start. We have ambitious goals and we want to be successful accordingly and find ourselves on the podium. In this respect, we are doing everything we can to ensure that we are well prepared for the race.”

Jeffrey Segal: “I am very happy to be at Le Mans with Walkenhorst Motorsport this year. It’s always a great privilege to drive at Le Mans, but especially this year for the 100th anniversary of the race and the final year of GTE cars. I have many fond memories behind the wheel of various Ferraris at Le Mans and look forward to adding another chapter with Walkenhorst Motorsport this year! Of course, this race is always a big challenge, but I think the team and the line-up have a good chance.”

Chandler Hull: “Our goal was to win the championship in the Asian Le Mans Series and secure a ticket for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Achieving that goal and driving to the race’s 100th anniversary couldn’t be more exciting. Our team, the driver constellation and the Ferrari 488 GTE are ready for the challenge. Le Mans is every driver’s goal and dream.”

Andrew Haryanto: “I am very happy about the chance to take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Walkenhorst Motorsport. We will do our best to be at the front of the class.”
