Walkenhorst Motorsport also switches to Aston Martin in GT4

One year after the switch in GT3, Walkenhorst Motorsport will continue to rely on Aston Martin in GT4 racing.

Walkenhorst Motorsport is making the complete switch to Aston Martin. After the team from Lower Saxony switched to the British brand in GT3 racing last year, the GT4 department will also follow suit for the 2025 season. The team plans to use the car for endurance racing, but also wants to continue its consistent promotion of young talent in sprint races.

The near-series sports car is powered by a V8 turbo engine with a displacement of almost four litres. Depending on the classification via the balance of performance, it has an output of around 475 hp. In its debut season, the car has already achieved success in national and international GT4 racing.

Walkenhorst Motorsport will conduct the first test drives with the car on 13 and 14 February and additionally on 17 and 18 February at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.

‘The test in Barcelona will be extremely important for us. We are really looking forward to getting to grips with the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 at the race track and effectively tackling our preparations for the season. We currently still have limited test slots available and are open to interested drivers who would like to test our GT4 intensively in Barcelona,’ explains Managing Director Jörg Breuer.

Walkenhorst Motorsport will continue the GT4 programme at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with the Aston Martin Vantage. The GT4’s participation in the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, the ADAC 24h Qualifiers and the Nürburgring 24-hour race is an integral part of the team’s season planning. In this regard, the team has already been able to confirm the first drivers.

A return to the ADAC GT4 Germany is also on the agenda for Walkenhorst Motorsport in 2025. The team successfully participated in the racing series as early as 2023 and was able to achieve top results there. The current plan is to field two cars in the high-calibre racing series, which is held as part of the DTM supporting programme. ‘Of course, competing as part of the DTM is extremely appealing to many drivers and sponsors and therefore also interesting for us. We got to know the championship as a professional environment in 2023, where we felt very comfortable. We are currently in promising talks with drivers for the respective races. Interested drivers are very welcome to contact us,’ adds Niclas Königbauer.

Walkenhorst Motorsport will announce the exact driver line-ups in the GT4 category at a later date.
