Walkenhorst Motorsport trio ready for 69th ADAC Westfalenfahrt

The Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie continues with the 69th ADAC Westfalenfahrt – Walkenhorst Motorsport is entering three cars.

After the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie continues. With the 69th ADAC Westfalenfahrt, the popular endurance championship on the Nordschleife enters its second half of the season. Walkenhorst Motorsport will enter three cars in the four-hour race – one Aston Martin Vantage GT3, one BMW M4 GT4 and one Hyundai i30N.

“Even after the 24-hour race, we will of course be competing on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, our motorsport home. Our Aston Martin will start in the SP9 Pro-Am classification – we are aiming for a good result here with our mix of young talent and experience! We are particularly pleased that Sami, a Walkenhorst driver of many years’ standing, will be celebrating his debut in the Aston Martin GT3,” says Managing Director Jörg Breuer.

At the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will be two talented young drivers, Sami-Matti Trogen from Finland and Benjamin Mazatis from Germany. Both have already gained experience with GT3 cars from the Melle-based team on the Nordschleife and showed good speed. The driver trio is completed by Anders Buchardt from Norway, who has already raced with WMS on the Nordschleife and in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS and therefore has plenty of experience in GT3 cars.

In the SP10 class, the racing team from Lower Saxony will once again be up against high-calibre GT4 competition. In the previous rounds of the season, the class has impressed with strong numbers of participants and exciting motorsport. The BMW M4 GT4 will be driven by the two Walkenhorst Motorsport rookies Aris Balanian and Florian Weber. The talented Briton Joseph Warhurst, who recently finished second in the class at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, will take the wheel as the third driver.

The VT2 FWD class in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie also features exciting and highly competitive motorsport. Walkenhorst Motorsport will once again field a Hyundai i30N in the class for production-based touring cars at the 69th ADAC Westfalenfahrt. Bennet Ehrl will drive the Korean car together with the fast Briton Tom Edgar.

“For us as a team, it is essential that we continue to collect data with the Aston Martin Vantage on the Nordschleife so that we can continue to develop ourselves and the car. These races are also the start of our preparations for the 24-hour race in 2025,” says Niclas Königbauer, Managing Director Walkenhorst Motorsport.

The 69th ADAC Westfalenfahrt will start next Saturday at 12:00 noon. Before that, a 90-minute qualifying session will take place on the Nordschleife from 8.30 am. Fans can follow the entire race day of the popular series in the official livestream via YouTube.
