Double victory to start the season in Dubai: Walkenhorst Motorsport wins the first and second race of the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series in the GT class

11./12. February 2023 – Dubai Autodrome, United Arab Emirates
The first race weekend in Dubai is a complete success for the Walkenhorst Motorsport team
from Melle (Germany). Thomas Merrill sets the base for a sensational start into the Asian Le
Mans Series 2023 by putting the BMW M4 GT3 on pole position for both 4-hour races during
qualifying. From here, Chandler Hull, Nicky Catsburg and Thomas Merrill drive the #34 to a double victory. Thanks to the pole position in qualifying and the victory on both race days,
Team Walkenhorst Motorsport leads the leaderboard for the 2023 Asian le Mans Series
championship with 52 points. The entire team is now preparing for the next event at the Yas
Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

zweiten Lauf der Asian Le Mans Series 2023 in der GT-Klasse

Das erste Rennwochenende in Dubai ist ein voller Erfolg für das Walkenhorst Motorsport-
Team aus Melle. Thomas Merrill legt beim Qualifying den Grundstein für einen
sensationellen Start in die Asian Le Mans Series 2023. Er stellt den BMW M4 GT3 für beide 4-
Stunden Rennen auf die Pole Position. Von hier aus fahren Chandler Hull, Nicky Catsburg und
Thomas Merrill mit der Startnummer 34 zum Doppel-Sieg. Dank der Pole-Position im
Qualifying und dem Sieg an beiden Renntagen führt das Team Walkenhorst Motorsport die
Rangliste um die Meisterschaft der Asian le Mans Series 2023 mit 52 Punkten an. Das
gesamte Team bereitet sich nun auf den nächsten Einsatz im Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi vor.
