Walkenhorst Motorsport joins DTM also in 2022!

Melle-Feb 2nd, 2022. Walkenhorst Motorsport will compete in the 2022 DTM. After the team celebrated its debut in the DTM last year and achieved five podiums and two victories together with driver Marco Wittmann and the BMW M6 GT3, the focus of the upcoming season will be to build on the success that have been achieved. The team will participate with two of the new BMW flagships, the BMW M4 GT3. DTM Champion and BMW factory driver Marco Wittmann will be racing the #11 for the second year with the team. Walkenhorst Motorsport has a newcomer in its family, Esteban Muth. He will be at the wheel of the second BMW M4 GT3#10 as a Walkenhorst Motorsport driver. He already gained his first experience in the DTM last year and thus completes the driver line-up. The season will start with the two official DTM tests at the Hockenheimring and in Portimão. The first raceweekend will take place after the second test in Portimão from April 29th to May 1st. The team is very motivated and can`t wait to be back and show what they are capable of.

After the positive impact we made in the 2021, with two race wins and several podium finishes, we are confident that we can back up that success with our new spearhead, the BMW M4 GT3. Marco Wittmann: „I’m extremely happy to competein the DTM again with Walkenhorst Motorsport. After the successful last year, which was the first time together with Walkenhorst in the DTM, in which we had a good season with two wins and the 4th overall position, I hope that we can build on that. Maybe this year we can achieve similar successes or even better ones. Especially with our new BMW M4 GT3. But I’m very confident with the constellation, because we now have two cars in the team and we can push together with Esteban. The goal, of course, is to have a successful season. The boys and girls already did an extremely good job last year. I’m looking very forward to it.”

Esteban Muth: „The team will be a great opportunity for me. They are really professional and they achieved some great successesin the past. Especially their DTM entry last year which ended with a great result.I’m really looking forward to start the season with the brand the new BMW M4 GT3 which has great potential. Teaming up with someone like Marco, who is a really strong driver, is going to be great but I will need to work really hard to keep up with him. And I also hope I can quickly adapt to the level of the team.”

Walkenhorst Motorsport steigt auch 2022 in die DTM ein! Melle -2. Februar 2022. Walkenhorst Motorsport geht 2022 in der DTM an den Start. Nachdem das Team im vergangenen Jahr sein Debüt in der DTM feierte und gemeinsam mit Fahrer Marco Wittmann und dem BMW M6 GT3 fünf Podestplätze und zwei Siege erzielte, liegt der Fokus der kommenden Saison darauf, an die erzielten Erfolge anzuknüpfen. Das Team wird mit zwei der neuen BMW Flaggschiffe, dem BMW M4 GT3, antreten. DTM-Meister und BMW Werksfahrer Marco Wittmann fährt die #11 zum zweiten Mal gemeinsam mit dem Team. Walkenhorst Motorsporthat einen Neuankömmling in seiner Familie, Esteban Muth. Er wird als Fahrer von Walkenhorst Motorsport am Steuer des zweiten BMW M4 GT3 #10 sitzen. Bereits im vergangenen Jahr sammelte er erste Erfahrungen in der DTM und komplettiert damit die Fahrerbesetzung. Die Saison beginnt mit den beiden offiziellen DTM-Tests auf dem Hockenheimring und in Portimão. Das erste Rennwochenende findet nach dem zweiten Test in Portimão vom 29. April bis 1. Mai statt. Das Team ist sehr motiviert und kann es kaum erwarten, zurück zu sein und zu zeigen, was in ihnensteckt.

Nach den positiven Ausrufezeichen, die wir in der DTM 2021 mit zwei Siegen und mehreren Podestplätzen setzen konnten, sind wir uns sicher, mit unserer neuen Speerspitze BMW M4 GT3 an die bisherigen Erfolge anknüpfen zu können. Marco Wittmann: „Ich freue mich extrem erneut mit Walkenhorst Motorsport in der DTM an den Start zu gehen. Nach dem erfolgreichen letzten Jahr, welches das erste gemeinsame mit Walkenhorst in der DTM war bei welchem wir mit zwei Siegen und dem 4. Gesamtrang eine gute Saison eingefahren haben, hoffe ich natürlich, dass wir darauf aufbauen können. Vielleicht können wir dieses Jahr ähnliche Erfolge oder sogar bessere einfahren. Vor allem mit unserem neuen BMW M4 GT3. Aber ich bin sehr zuversichtlich mit der Konstellation, da wir jetzt zwei Fahrzeuge im Team haben und wir so gemeinsam, mit Esteban, pushen können. Das Ziel ist natürlich eine erfolgreiche Saison zu haben. Die Jungs und Mädels haben da bereits letztes Jahr einen extrem guten Job gemacht. Ich freu mich unheimlich.“

Esteban Muth: „Das Team ist eine große Chance für mich. Sie sind wirklich professionell und haben in der Vergangenheit einige großartige Erfolge erreicht. Besonders ihr Eintritt in die DTM im vergangenen Jahr, der mit einem sehr guten Ergebnis endete. Ich freue mich sehr darauf, mit ihnen und dem neuen sehr vielversprechenden BMW M4 GT3 in die Saison zu starten. Mit einem so starken Fahrer wie Marco zusammenzuarbeiten wird großartig sein, aber ich werde sehr hart arbeiten müssen um mit ihm mithalten zu können. Außerdem hoffe ich, dass ich mich schnell an das Niveau des Teams anpassen kann.”
