Walkenhorst Motorsport will enter the DTM with Marco Wittmann

Melle, Germany (April 06th 2021). It is already known that Walkenhorst Motorsport is going to get involved in the DTM. Finally it is confirmed that the BMW M6 GT3 will be driven by the DTM champion Marco Wittmann (GER) and the car will be running with the starting number #11. It is the first time that the GT3 will start in the DTM. Walkenhorst has had a lot of experience with the BMW M6 GT3 in the past years and together with a professional driver like Marco nothing will hinder a successful season. This is an amazing opportunity for Walkenhorst to prove their skills and their professional work gained in several series. The already packed calendar of Walkenhorst is hereby extended by further eight race weekends. The season starts with the official pre- season test at Hockenheim followed by a second one at Lausitzring in May. The team is super motivated and will do its best to achieve outstanding performance.

Teammanager, Niclas Königbauer: “Now a new chapter is starting for us – being part of the top level DTM championship is fantastic. With Marco we have a DTM champion in our team and we will work hard to keep our successful path also in this sprint environment. Every single person involved in our program is highly motivated and we are looking forward to fight for podiums.”

Driver, Marco Wittmann: “I’m really looking forward to be driving with Walkenhorst Motorsport in the DTM 2021. There are certainly some new challenges to overcome for us, including using the BMW M6 GT3 in sprint race format. Nevertheless we as a team will give everything to ensure that the project is successful. Anyone who knows me knows how important the DTM is for me and it means even more that I will be competing again in a new constellation in 2021.”

Walkenhorst Motorsport wird mit Marco Wittmann in die DTM einsteigen

Melle, Deutschland (06. April 2021). Es ist bereits bekannt, dass Walkenhorst Motorsport sich an der DTM beteiligen wird. Nun ist bestätigt, dass der BMW M6 GT3 vom DTM-Champion Marco Wittmann (DEU) gefahren wird und das Auto mit der Startnummer #11 fährt. Es ist das erste Mal, dass der GT3 in der DTM startet. Walkenhorst hat in den letzten Jahren viel Erfahrung mit dem BMW M6 GT3 gesammelt und zusammen mit einem professionellen Fahrer wie Marco steht einer erfolgreichen Saison nichts im Weg. Dies ist eine erstaunliche Gelegenheit für Walkenhorst, deren Fähigkeiten und die professionelle Arbeit, welche das Team in mehreren Serien ergatterte, zu beweisen. Der bereits vollgepackte Kalender von Walkenhorst wird hiermit um weitere acht Rennwochenenden erweitert. Die Saison beginnt mit dem offiziellen Test vor der Saison in Hockenheim, gefolgt von einem zweiten Test auf dem Lausitzring im Mai. Das Team ist hoch motiviert und wird ihr Bestes geben, um herausragende Leistungen zu erzielen.

Sicherlich wird es für uns einige neue Herausforderungen geben, die zu bewältigen sind, unter anderen den BMW M6 GT3 im Sprintrennen Format einzusetzen. Aber dennoch werden wir als Team alles dafür geben damit das Projekt erfolgreich bestritten wird. Wer mich kennt, weiß wie sehr mir die DTM ans Herz gewachsen ist und umso mehr bedeutet es mir, dass ich 2021 in neuer Konstellation wieder an den Start gehen werde.“
