The fourth race weekend of the traditional GT3 series will take place on the legendary Ardennes rollercoaster at Spa-Francorchamps. The ADAC GT Masters will return to the Belgian circuit for the first time since 2015. Walkenhorst Motorsport will field two Aston Martin Vantage GT3 cars.

‘We are travelling to Spa with fond memories. This June, we put in a great performance at the 24-hour race there and fought for good results with our three cars, but unfortunately we missed out on a place on the overall podium by a wafer-thin margin. This shows: The Aston Martin suits the track well and we want to take the momentum into the ADAC GT Masters weekend,’ explains Jörg Breuer, Managing Director of Walkenhorst Motorsport.

The two Walkenhorst Motorsport cars in the ADAC GT Masters will be driven by the usual driver duos. Mike David Ortmann and Denis Bulatov will share the #34 Vantage, with the two newcomers from the ADAC GT4 Germany currently occupying eighth position in the championship. US-American Chandler Hull and Nico Hantke will line up in the #35 car, which competes in the Pro-Am Cup.

At Spa-Francorchamps, the ADAC GT Masters will once again focus on the endurance format, which recently made its debut at the Nürburgring. Two pit stops including driver changes are mandatory in the 80-minute Saturday race. Both pit stops also include refuelling and one tyre change. Sunday’s race lasts 40 minutes with one driver change.

‘We are going into the race weekend in Spa in good spirits! We really enjoyed the endurance format at the Nürburgring and we can utilise all of our endurance experience from various championships there. Spa has always been a good venue for us. We are looking forward to the two races,’ adds Niclas Königbauer, Managing Director.

The two ADAC GT Masters races will start at 11:05 on Saturday and 14:55 on Sunday. Fans will have the opportunity to watch both races on Sport1 on German free-to-air TV and in the official YouTube stream. The qualifying on Sunday morning can also be followed on the stream. Due to the tight schedule, the first qualifying session will take place on Friday.

After the summer break, the ADAC GT Masters season will continue at Spa-Francorchamps – Walkenhorst Motorsport will field two Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
