The goal for the 46th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen was clearly defined by Walkenhorst Motorsport in advance – the pro vehicles were to compete for victory.

Two BMW M4 GT3s were entered in the SP9 class. Jakub Giermaziak and Christian Krognes already proved in qualifying that they could lead the field in their #34 car. With a lap time of 7:56.559, the duo just missed pole position.

Thomas Neubauer, Niklas Krütten and Dylan Pereira maneuvered the #35 sister car and started the 4-hour distance from fifth place.

Both cars convinced with a strong performance. The #35 BMW M4 GT3 was in second position after an hour and a half when an accident forced the team to pit. Unfortunately, during the necessary repair work, the vehicle was thrown back far. However, the crew was able to resume the race and used the remaining time to prepare for the upcoming events.

Meanwhile, the endurance veterans Jakub Giermaziak and Christian Krognes continued to fight their way forward and were in first place after the 9th lap of the race distance. After 28 laps, the vehicle with the eye-catching Yokohama Advan design crossed the finish line of the Nürburgring as the overall winner.

—

The #191 Walkenhorst Motorsport M4 GT4 was driven this weekend by regular drivers Aris Balanian, Florian Weber and Ace Robey. With a good fifth place on the grid, the trio started catching up and, thanks to a flawless performance and after an exciting overtaking maneuver on the Döttinger Höhe on the last lap, was able to celebrate their first win in the SP10 class after 26 laps.

The #466 Hyundai i30 N was occupied by Flavia Pellegrino Fernandes and Bennet Ehrl, while the #470 was driven by Alexander Connor and Bailey Voisin. The duo was able to record good lap times and finished the race in 4th place in the class. Unfortunately, the #466 had to be parked after 17 laps.

—

Jörg Breuer: “We are over the moon about winning the fourth long-distance race at the Nürburgring. Our thanks go to Jakub “Kuba” Giermaziak and Christian Krognes, who delivered a flawless race and really harmonize as a “duo”. The Yokohama tires worked perfectly once again and we can now compete for overall victory in the Eifel in all weather conditions – even in very warm temperatures. A one-two was even possible for a short time, but unfortunately the #35 had to pit for repairs due to an accident. Thomas Neubauer, Niklas Krütten and Dylan Pereira showed in their first outing together in the BMW M4 GT3 that they can be right at the front. Florian Weber, Aris Balanian and Ace Robey also put in a great performance in the BMW M4 GT4. In a heart-stopping final just before the checkered flag, we were able to take first place and secure class victory in the hard-fought SP10 for the first time. The great team result was rounded off with a good fourth place by Bailey Voisin and Alexander Connor in the class for front-wheel drive vehicles with our Hyundai i30 N. Only our Hyundai with the starting number #466 and the drivers Flavia Fernandes and Bennet Ehrl wasn’t able to finish the race due to a technical defect. We are now looking forward to the tasks ahead and are happy to take the sense of achievement from the Nürburgring with us to Zandvoort, where we will be fighting for important championship points again next weekend in the ADAC GT4 Germany.”

Jakub Giermaziak: “I am very happy about our second NLS victory. We definitely want to keep this 50% rate or even improve it. We have a very strong package. Our tires are always top, no matter what the weather conditions are like on the track. We have a great team and I can learn a lot from Christian. After the disappointment at the 24-hour race, we are now optimistic about the rest of the season.”

Walkenhorst Motorsport celebrates victory at the Nürburgring Christian Krognes and Jakub Giermaziak snatch victory at the fourth Nürburgring Endurance Series event of the season. Nürburgring. At the weekend, 103 vehicles met at the fourth Nürburgring long-distance series race.
