Walkenhorst Motorsport ended their debut season in the ADAC GT Masters at Hockenheim.
The ADAC GT Masters season finale took place at Hockenheim in front of 95,000 spectators. Walkenhorst Motorsport entered two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s, driven by Mike David Ortmann and Denis Bulatov, and Chandler Hull and Nico Hantke.
‘It was an educational year for us in the ADAC GT Masters. The ADAC GT Masters is an extremely competitive race series and we were able to gain a lot of experience, which we will now use in preparation for the 2025 season,’ said Managing Director Jörg Breuer.
The two Aston Martins started the race on Saturday from difficult grid positions. Ortmann and Bulatov managed to finish the race in tenth place thanks to a strong, combative performance. Chandler Hull and Nico Hantke in the Walkenhorst Motorsport Pro-Am car also put in a good performance, finishing the race in eleventh place, which is equivalent to second place in the class.
After a strong qualifying performance from Nico Hantke, the #35 Aston Martin started Sunday’s race from a strong third place on the grid. The youngster was able to keep up with the top cars at the start and prove his talent. After his American team-mate spun, the drivers finished the race in 13th place and on the Pro-Am podium again. Ortmann and Bulatov again scored important championship points with ninth place.
‘The highlights of the season were, of course, the podium finishes by Denis and Mike David, but also the great Pro-Am class victory at Spa! We want to build on these achievements in 2025 and start the new season stronger, for which we will prepare intensively during the winter months,’ adds Niclas Königbauer, Managing Director Walkenhorst Motorsport.
Mike David Ortmann and Denis Bulatov ended the season in eighth place overall. In the team standings, the Aston Martin racing team finished a strong fifth. Walkenhorst Motorsport’s next GT3 outing will be the season finale of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup in Jeddah.
