Walkenhorst Motorsport travel to the Red Bull Ring full of motivation

Walkenhorst Motorsport are heading for the fifth race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters. The team from Melle are full of motivation after their recent strong results.

The ADAC GT Masters enters the crucial phase of the season at the Red Bull Ring, where the fifth race weekend of the long-established GT3 series takes place on the Grand Prix circuit in Austria’s Steiermark region. Walkenhorst Motorsport have travelled directly from the Fanatec GT World race at Monza to Austria and will field two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s.

‘After the strong recent results in the ADAC GT Masters, we are now looking forward to the event at the Red Bull Ring. We want to be in with a chance of a podium finish again,’ said Jörg Breuer, Managing Director Walkenhorst Motorsport.

Mike David Ortmann and Denis Bulatov were able to secure their second podium finish of the ADAC GT Masters season on the rollercoaster circuit in the Belgian Ardennes. The two ADAC GT4 Germany promoted drivers are currently in sixth place in the overall standings and are still in contention to catch up with the driver duos ahead of them in the championship. They are hoping to make further progress in the championship at the Red Bull Ring.

The second Walkenhorst Motorsport car will be driven by Chandler Hull and talented young driver Nico Hantke. The two of them secured their first victory in the Pro-Am class at Spa-Francorchamps, and their goal is to continue challenging for top results in the class at the Red Bull Ring.

‘We are feeling confident about the Red Bull Ring weekend. In recent weeks, it has been clear to see that the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 works well on high-speed circuits, and the Red Bull Ring is one of them. We are also pleased that more guest entrants will be competing in Spielberg, which will further boost this great racing series!’ added Managing Director Niclas Königbauer.

After two ‘Endurance’ race weekends, the ADAC GT Masters returns to its usual format at the Red Bull Ring, with two one-hour races and a mandatory driver change halfway through the race. Both races will start at 3:15 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Sport1 will broadcast both races live on German free-to-air TV, and the ADAC will stream both races and the morning qualifying sessions worldwide on YouTube.
