Theo Oeverhaus advances to his first DTM guest start at the Nürburgring

Walkenhorst Motorsport is hosting the youngest DTM driver in history at the Nürburgring. Theo Oeverhaus not only competes in the DTM Trophy, but also in the main competitions.

Nürburgring. The DTM Trophy talent Theo Oeverhaus will be at the start of the DTM at the Nürburgring from August 26th to 28th. His first race in the top league follows the GT3 premiere at the legendary Spa 24 Hours. The 17-year-old is making history as the youngest driver in the series. He has been an integral part of the team since 2021. He celebrated his first Trophy victory last year at the Hockenheimring. Theo Oeverhaus has already finished second in the current season and celebrated a win at the Norisring. This puts the young hopeful in third place in the drivers’ standings.

The driver from Osnabrück completes the Walkenhorst Motorsport DTM line-up alongside veteran Marco Wittmann and his teammate Esteban Muth in the BMW M4 GT3.

“I’m very happy about the opportunity and the trust that DTM has placed in me to be the youngest driver in history,” says Theo Oeverhaus. “It’s going to be a tough weekend for me as I’m also competing in the DTM Trophy. Nevertheless, I’m really looking forward to showing how well you can advance to the top-class DTM via the BMW M2 Cup and DTM Trophy junior series. A big thank you goes to Walkenhorst Motorsport, who supports me both in the DTM Trophy and in the DTM.”

Walkenhorst Motorsport Team Manager Niclas Königbauer adds: “It brings us great pride and joy to be able to accompany Theo from karting to the DTM so successfully and I’m very excited to see how he will do in his first GT3 sprint race. I continue to hope that we can see more young talents on the unique DTM platform in the future and that we can be a part of their success story.” The DTM enters the second half of the season at the Nürburgring. Two of the remaining eight races will be held on the 3.629 kilometer long track. Walkenhorst Motorsport will have a day of testing beforehand on August 21st.
